Espero Women

For many years now I've had a dream of working with women in some far off land to help them earn a just income and support their families. I had no idea how to make that dream come to life. But God did.

In February 2018 I began working with a group of local women. They meet in our home each Thursday to pray the rosary, read scripture, and then make bracelets together. We pray especially for the women of Kilometer 64, a nearby ejido (impoverished community off a main town) that is most known for prostitution. KM64 isn't even a name, it's simply the kilometer on the highway where these 30 tiny homes sit.

Our family visits with the women of KM64 each Tuesday in their chapel. We are currently reading through the book of Romans together.

My hope (Espero means "I hope" in Spanish) was to include the KM64 women in the Espero ministry to help them earn a holy and good income. On Good Friday I was asked to include them with a sewing project and thus the dream became a reality again. The women of KM64 sew the bags you see for sale on our Etsy.

Our hope is in Christ. Selling bracelets and bags doesn't make anyone here rich, but it does provide dignified work to 15 women. Additionally, we've been able to purchase blood pressure and blood glucose monitors, extra test strips, vegetables, 6 school uniforms, and much more for the women and children of Espero.

God is working miracles here and I invite you to join us! Support by shopping our Etsy, pray for us, tell a friend about Espero, follow us on Instagram or Facebook, visit us on a mission trip! :)
